FAll HARVEST

The leaves are turning and falling everywhere.
Yeah! Fall.
Another word for Fall is Autumn.

I had fun playing in the leaves with my friend Rain.We had lots of fun scooping them up and watching them fall to the ground. Sometimes we even fell into them. They were crunchy and cold.

You know there are some places in the United States it is snowing already. Places like New Hampshire and Vermont. These states are in an area in the United States called New England. In other places it is still warm, like Florida and California. These states will eventually experience Fall and some of there tree leaves will turn color and fall to the ground too.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY.

This is something Mark Twain-author of Tom Sawyer-says about happines.

"The best way to cheer yourself up is to try to cheer somebody else up."

CREATIVE ACTIVITY

The fall season brings different kinds of apples.

Red, green, and yellow too.So here is a recipe for:

BAKED APPLES

INGREDIENTS

6 apples
3/4 cup of brown sugar
3 teaspoons cinnamon
6 tablespoons of butter

SUPPLES

Knife
Teaspoon
Tablespoon
Apple coring tool
Small bowl
Baking dish

DIRECTIONS

Preheat oven to 35o degrees
Core the apple with a coring tool or just cut out the middle with a knife.
Mix sugar, cinnamon and butter together in a small bowl.
Pour sugar, butter and cinnamon mixture into the middle of the apple.
Place apples in a baking dish.
Let bake until apples get soft.
ENJOY! Don't forget to share.

Options: Pour 1 can of ginger ale in the center of the apples to create a little apple juice syrup.

Something to remember: Macintosh cook faster. Granny Smiths take a little longer to cook. Pink Lady apples have a bitter sweet taste. Red & Yellow/Green Delicious are very sweet.

QUESS WHAT?

Use an Apple for keeping the Doctor Away.
Did you know that the old saying" An apple a day, keeps the
doctor away", may very well prove itself true one day. Every part of the apple tree; fruit, flowers, buds, leaves, bark and twigs have been used as a medicinal (medicine) herb.

The one draw back is the apple has is that the seeds are Toxic!
Apples themselves are excellent for anyone suffering from digestive problems.
Apple blossoms have been known to be made into a tea and used to treat sore throats and colds

TODAY'S QUESTION
