KEEP IT SIMPLE

Life for Little people can be hard, difficult, confusing and plan old frustrating just like Grown Ups.

If you put all your physical and thinking energy towards what you can do and ask for help with what you can't, the troublesome things get easier.
Sometimes if you just let it go, it turns out that it really wasn't that important in the first place. Other times someone will show up unexpectedly (surprise) and help you out.

This is what happened to Sunrae the other day. She was having a hard time remembering some of the things she learned in computer class.

She sat and sat; and sat looking at the computer. She was successful with some of the tools, but not others. While she sat staring at the computer, one of her friends walked into the computer lab and said "you look like you need help". Sunae shooked her head "yes". Her friend sat next to her and started moving things around and telling her what to do on her own. WOW! with her freinds, help she was able to complete her project and show it off to all her friends.

Sunrae's project is a craft and cook book for kids.
The ones you have seen in this blog and more.
Look for the book release announcement
SOON.

WINTER WONDERLAND

IS IT COLD WHERE YOU LIVE?
What I mean is, does the season change four times per year. If yes, then it should be winter. Winter usually brings with it cold winds, rain and Yea! SNOW.
Sometimes, it is sooo! cold outside that you may see things that use to be liquid water is now frozen ice. Some people like the cold and snow so much that they play in it. They go ice skating, sking, sledding, make snow angels, and of course have a snow ball fight. If you go out to play in the cold make sure you wear clothes to keep you warm. This is what you need.

CIRCUS SURPRISES

I now some of you including me, Sunrae have or are going to take a very important test at school. We have been told to get plenty of rest and eat well the day before the test. I want to say to you is, do your BEST and TRUST that you WILL do well. After you finish make sure you do something SPECIAL like I did. I went to the Cirque du Soleil this past Sunday.

It was awesome. It was a circus without animals. IMAGINE that. Even though there were no animals, there were clowns, acrobatic stunts, live music; and jugglers too. One of the clowns pretended that he was going to shot water into the audience. Quess what?, it was lots and lots and lots of confetti (tore up colored paper) and not water. There was paper all over every one. It was funny. Everyone had fun and left with smiles on their faces. I didn't want it to end.
So enjoy yourself after your hard work.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DR. KING

TODAY IS DR. KING'S BIRTHDAY

January 15th, 2009

Dr. Martin Luther King talked and dreamed that people of different races ( African American, Caucasian, Indian, Asian) and different backgrounds ( wealthy, poor, working class, or homeless) will work, play and worship together. Being different doesn't make you strange, scary or to be left alone.

Sunrae has friends that are twins. Just because they are twins doesn't mean they think and do things exactly alike. They accept each others different ways of doing things. One of the twins like plan chocolate ice cream and the other likes their chocolate ice cream with graham crackers and gummy bears. Let's just say we are UNIQUE which makes us just that much more interesting to hang out together.

OH PROMISE ME

Inauguration Parade

What is a promise?
It is something you said you would do for someone and they are counting on you to follow through and do it.

Well, next Tuesday, January 20th, 2009 President-elect Barack H. Obama will be making a promise to the citizens of the United States. Ms. Mona, Sunrae and her friends will be watching and listening to Mr. Obama make his promise.

Sunrae's friends Marshall and Veronica told her that the promise is found in the United States Constitution-Article 2-Section 1-Clause (line) #8.
The Constitution is a really big book with lots and lots and lots of information. This week would be a good time to go to the library and take a look into the Constitution yourself.

You might need someone to read this promise to you or explain some of the words.

United States Capital
Washington, DC
This is what Mr. Obama has to say;

“I Barack Hassen Obama do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States."

Think about what promise you can make to yourself , your family and your country. Everyone will be counting on you to follow through. Don't forget to ask for help, because somethings you just can't do alone.

LAUGH, LAUGH, LAUGH

Laughter Is Good For You, Me and Our Insides Too.

This week Sunrae had lots of things to laugh about. The people she interacted with did some really funny things. When she was in dance class Ms. Mona put on a song by Earth, Wind and Fire (old school music band) and one of the students yelled as if she was announcing the group were entering a stage; "EARTH, WIND AND FIRE!!!". All the students, including Ms. Mona burst into laughter. No one expected that to happen.

You see laugh when good unexpected things happen or you get a little tickle inside. Laughter makes our insides laugh too. What I mean is, our organs (heart, stomach, liver, kidneys, skin, etc.) smile too. Inside our bodies is a chemical that gets a boost when we laugh, it is called "dopamine" (doe-pa-meen). Even that word sounds funny.

When our inside organs (heart) and outside organs (skin) are happy we feel happy all over. Some say if we laugh a lot we can stay healthy ( not get sick).
SO LAUGH AND LAUGH AND LAUGH.
Tell a joke, do something silly, (be safe); or laugh just because you can.
HA! HA! HA! HE! HE! HE! HO! HO!
