Dance Like No One Is Watching

Dance with Sunrae and friends this week.

Remember last week we talked about the importance of exercise, well I forgot to mention dancing. Dancing really helps your body and you don't even have to think how it is helping, because you're having fun, making new friends You even get to show off to others what you have learned in a dance recital or a big show production with lights and everything.

Me and Ms. Mona are going to be in a big show production called

"The Chocolate Nutcracker" , in December. Just in time for the holidays. Ms. Mona and I have been learning an African and Tap dance that will be performed in the show. Ms. Mona has been choreographing a Tap dance ( making up a dance routine) for children ages 7-10 years old.

The children are having fun and are eager to learn. They make sure they eat healthy snacks between practice and so do I. Me and the other kids muscles are sore at the end of our rehearsel, so we make sure we take a hot bath. If you don't dance in a recital or big show production, dance around your house for your family and friends. Dance like no one is watching, even if someone really is. Just welcome them to your show. DANCE HAPPY.

"Get Your Body Moving"

Greetings from Sunrae and Friends.
Can you jump 100 times in a jump rope or do 10 leg lifts while lying on your back on the floor? Well, these are some exercises that are very simple to do and your heart will be happy that you did. Exercising will not only keep your body firm, but the organs inside will function well too. Another healthy thing to do is eat the right kinds of food to keep your body and mind clear. If you eat a vary of fruits, various colored vegetables and some kind of protein your body inside and out will glow with pride. Rest and drinking plenty of water will help maintain a clear mind and a sunny out look on life. I guess thats why my name is Sunrae. I try to keep a positive attitude, be kind to others, eat right, rest and exercise. There are times my freinds and I forget, but we keep each other on track.

Life Is Just Like Fall Leaves

Wonderful Wednesday from Sunrae and her friends.

Hey out there, where I live the leaves are beginning to change color. There are so many shades of red, orange, and brown. Some of them are actually turning yellow too. Ms. Mona and I are going to love playing in the leaves when they all fall to the ground. They will float down to the ground when we throw them up into the air and make crunching sounds when we walk on them.

You know we change just like the leaves. We start with a very tiny body and a few years later we have grown taller. Leaves start out as little seeds and grow big and strong too. We also change the we feel about things, like if something is funny, we laugh or if something hurts, we cry. Do you think the leaves laugh when we throw them up in air?; Or giggle when we step on them and they go crunch, crunch?

Well, think about some other ways that you have changed and share with your family or maybe your best friend. Me and my best friend, Christal Crosswinds talk about when we were little we used to like eatting raisins with our fingers, but now that we are older we like eating them with cereal and milk in a bowl.

Let Peace Begin With You

Good Day everyone.
Did you have a fun weekend? Did you learn something new or do anything special? Me (Sunrae), Ms, Mona and her family visited the grand opening of a Buddism Community Center. Buddism is a type of religion. One of the thing they believe is that all people can live peacefully and happy together.

They had a display explaining what passive violence was. That means people do things to hurt each other in a quiet way. It is when another person says unkind words, or try to make another person do something they don't want to do,like being bullied. It is also when another person doesn't want to sit next to another person and do mean things to their property. So you see violence can be done without physically hitting another person.

Today if you get angry or frustrated with something some one has done or said, stop and think; PEACE BEGINS WITH ME because I AM PEACEFUL

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Believe in miracles, they do happen. YOU just have to believe.

You Get What You Give

Hey this week Ms. Mona and I, Sunrae have been working on teaching kids how to express their feelings without getting hurt or hurting others.
Ms. Mona tells the kids to say what they want. The big word for this is
Assertive (as-ser-tive).
What it really mean, is to say what you want in a direct way, wait to get a response (answer) from the other person and accept their feelings.
Remember we are all different.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Treat others as you would have them treat you.

The New Neighborhood

Hey there everyone!
How has the past two been going for you? Did you do anything special? Well, Sunrae and Ms. Mona did something special. They have been moving to a new home. That's why she had not posted any blogs. It is a nice community and we hear the train go by very often. Hey I hear one right now. If you sit very still you might hear one in your neighborhood.
There a few children in the neighborhood, mostly boys. They like playing soccer. Oh, by the way there is a sports field near by and their are a lot of soccer teams playing there. You know what?Sunrae has two friends that play sports. They play tennis and basketball. Sunrae will introduce them in a story sometime in the future. Playing a sport, dancing with a performing company or singing in a chorus help you learn how to share and get along. I have a question for you. How well do you share?
Remember to write a comment about the blog page and the extra stuff-HINT-puppy of the day section or the creative activity. This is a way to share with me.
Don't forget to use Sunrae and Friends BLOG CARD to sign in on the blog page or get an adult to help you.
